The Fortunes Pop Group
I didn't think anyone else at Destructoid would be interested in reviewing Gal.Gun: Double Peace.I've become the defacto niche Japanese game reviewer somehow and this title, with its scantily clad. Metacritic Game Reviews, Gal.Gun: Double Peace for PlayStation 4, Houdai, a typically incompetent high school boy when it come to matters of the heart, accidentally eats a full power cupid shot and becom.
Discovered by pioneering pop music promoter Reg Calvert, The Fortunes were also to showcase the talents of hit songwriting team Roger Greenaway and Roger Cook. 'You've Got Your Troubles' The Fortunes story begins in 1960 when Moseley Grammar School pupils Rodney Bainbridge (born 31 March 1944) and Barry Pritchard (born 3 April 1944) formed a singing duo known at the time as 'The Strollers'.
Cliff, please verify the Ventures info below. Here's my source. The Fortunes fortune changed from a struggling Merseybeat band, not only because of the success of the Beatles, but also because they ditched their trio sound and added a drummer and a keyboardist - in this case, classically trained and pop self-taught David Carr. In 1965, they reached #7 on the Hot 100 with 'You've Got Your Troubles'. They had two other top 40 hits, one in 1965 ('Here It Comes Again') and one in 1971 ('Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again') (six years later and they add more words to the title?. . . ), but sometime after 1965, David Carr had already left the Fortunes and eventually joined forces with Mel Taylor of the Ventures. He worked on Taylor's James Bond 007 and Sun Sea And Love, and then Carr, famed guitarist Harvey 'The Snake' Mandel (he should be inducted) and bassist Larry Taylor joined the Ventures for the Bill Doggett tribute Ram-Bunk-Shush and also Rock And Roll Forever. Later in the 70s, Carr joined up with the great rock & roll jack-of-all-trades Kim Fowley for some of Fowley's projects, as well as served as conductor and arranger on Helen Reddy's Ear Candy featuring the top 20 hit 'You're My World'. Carr has been involved lately with the KubRo Group, the projects of which included Beach Boys' Al Jardine's latest album A Postcard From California.
David Carr, keyboardist for the Fortunes, born in Leyton, Essex, England on 04 Aug 1943, died around 13 Jul 2011 of a heart attack at the young age of 68.
