Warning, extreme and graphic violence ahead! Beat Saber may have been the top selling virtual reality game of 2018, but the coveted title of Christmas number one actually went to a brutally violent sword, archery and magical hack and slash called Blade and Sorcery. As I write this at the end of January 2019 it’s still the number two selling VR game on Steam and has over 1000 positive reviews.

Blade And Sorcery Ps4 Vr

I'm the guy who was making all the Blade and Sorcery videos for months before it went into beta, and now I'm the Community Manager for the game. Just popped in to let you guys know the official word on PSVR.So the situation is, the developer absolutely wants to make a PSVR version happen, because why wouldn't he. The complication is he's not sure if it is technically possible. He doesn't own a PSVR or the developer kit yet, so he's unsure if there are technical limitations that could prevent it happening, or things like would the PSVR controller be suitable for the game.

Not saying anything wouldn't, I'm just saying he's unsure right now and it's all to be discovered.First up be want to make sure the EA launch goes as smoothly as possible on Steam, then afterwards he's doing Oculus Store. The reason it's not altogether is because being just one guy doing everything be doesn't wanna bite off more than he can chew. So after this if things are stable he might be able to look into PSVR.There are definitely tons of PSVR folk out here though and I get comments on my videos all the time from people asking/hoping for the port, so I sincerely hope it can happen!TLDR: He wants to but has to see if it is possible. Well from what people are saying, seems like there's enough buttons alright. Definitely more complex controls than Skyrim though! There are some fairly complex subactions, for example there is a telekinesis button, but then you also need to map pushing and pulling the object as we all spinning it. Or similar there is a button to grip an object, but another subaction to slide the object between your fingers (like a spear).

So having enough buttons is one thing but layout matters too. (Vive wands too some figuring out apparently) But anyway, we will see how it all goes!. Well not like Skyrim combat at all actually! Skyrim combat is just flat animations that play whereas in this everything is being driven by physics, which is what allows two swords to clash or a sword to penetrate the body. It's pretty process intense because of that! I've never played PSVR but I heard one concern might be the controllers - I know the Vive was a little tricky to get working in the end because of less buttons and layout issues. I think PSVR has the same amount as the Rift though?.

Well you could always take the teleport route, plenty of games have that as an option as opposed to joystick locomotion and doesn’t really take away from the overall gameplay, as long as you have the buttons mapped to match the details for combat because that’s the chief reason people want it. I just want it to come to PSVR because I don’t have the money for a Vive or Oculus Rift nor a computer to run them optimally. Which is another reason why I HOPE H3 will eventually make its way to PSVR because just like with Blade and Sorcery I’m a HUGE fan of immersion/realism.

Share The Latest News.Blade And Sorcery is one of the more recent titles to release on the VR platform. Produced by WarpFrog Studios, the game takes you inside a medieval fantasy sandbox with full physics driven melee, ranged and magic combat.

You get to become a powerful warrior, ranger or sorcerer and devastate your enemies. In the game itself you get full control of movement and get to engage in combat in your unique style and talent. In the GIF above you can see how dynamic you can be with attacks beyond traditional X, A, B, Y buttons found on consoles games. Rather, you get to wield a motion tracked controller and swing away with more fluid motion to practice your techniques. In addition, you can point your weapon in which ever way from a traditional stance to more of an assassin stance where the blade is facing the opposite direction in your hands. You can even flail around a spear to deflect oncoming attacks and parry. The above video by MERPTV will also show you how brutal you can be with your attacks.

In the video, the YouTuber goes for many final blows by stabbing the virtual opponents in the head with spears and swords. Blade and Sorcery also allows you to interact with digital objects found in the sandbox. For instance, you can place a bucket over someone’s head. This game is not for the faint of heart so make sure to only play this game if you are into gore or combat type of games.

Blade and Sorcery is available. It is compatible with both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
