While most of the trophies in Gauntlet: Slayer Edition will come with time, completing 50 floors in endless mode is a real feat of skill and determination. With a finite amount of lives, countless challenges, difficulty well beyond what you faced in the campaign and more, it can seem like an intimidating task. However, due to the way Gauntlet: Slayer Edition was designed, it’s actually quite doable with the right set up.

Editors Note: Version 1.02 seems to have removed the ability to die and skip areas, so you can no longer use this method. However, if you download the game and don’t install the update you can still use this to unlock the trophy.

Set up

Start by getting up to 90,000 gold on the wizard. You only need about 35,000 gold if you do the unlimited gold exploit, but to make it really easy you want to do the exploit with the aforementioned 90,000. Once you have the gold purchase The Hollow Chapters weapon and Ring of Mirrors relic. You don’t need to upgrade the Ring of Mirrors, but doing so makes things much easier. Upon getting these two items you’re ready to start endless mode.

How to Easily Transverse the Gauntlet with the Wizard

The circle circle skill for The Hollow Chapters weapon is a cloak that allows you to sneak past enemies. Not only that, the spells duration is equal to the time between casts, so you can remain cloaked forever if you really wanted to. So simply use the cloak to walk past every enemy and continue to the next floor.

Every now your path will be blocked, forcing you to clear out a room full of enemies. Before you get too worried, simply dying and waiting a moment almost always opens up the path. Just keep doing this on every floor while grabbing gold and buying skull tokens (continues) and after a couple of stages you’ll probably have 10+ lives and go pretty much go on forever.

General Tips

If you’re still having problems getting to level 50, try doing the following.

• Don’t use the Ring of Mirrors against cultist.
• Remember to kill enemies/summoning towers to earn more skull coins.
• Make sure to stock up on coins when you can. After floor 30 or so the shops don’t appear on every floor and after 37 all free food is turned to gold.
• Supposedly it’s possible to use checkpoints and get the trophy, though I found doing the earlier stages gives you a much needed buffer.
• Don’t be afraid to use potions. They’re a fairly common item to find and after a while you’ll have more cash than you can spend.
• Pay attention to patterns. Generally rooms that look the same are laid out the same, certain sets of floors are harder than others and so forth.
